Working in Schools
Our children are growing up in a society dominated by ultra-processed foods, where life is fast-paced and there often isn’t the time or money to make healthier choices. The current school curriculum does not equip them with the nutritional knowledge or practical skills they need to support their future growth and cognitive development. Adopting a multi-sensory approach, I offer practical workshops and assemblies for children to engage in fun conversations and activities to promote better health from an early age.
I also have a special interest in supporting children with additional needs (SEN), who often find their relationship with food even harder. In fact, simple dietary changes can regularly have a positive impact on neurodiverse individuals and the daily challenges they face. Imagine how it would feel to make mealtimes just a little bit more enjoyable for everyone? I’ll also gladly run one-to-one, home-based sessions and hope to offer more parental support in the near future too…
‘Healthy Body, Happy Me’ Club
This is my brand new club encouraging children to nurture a positive relationship with ‘real’ food from a young age. Each club session links the value of food to the four key pillars of health: nutrition, movement, relaxation and sleep. Children will learn just how important our food choices are for every aspect of our physical development and emotional well-being. A little bit of theory and a lot of practical fun creates a perfect balance for all participants. Launching in September 2025, the club can run either as primary school lunchtime or afterschool sessions and is equally perfect for a small group of homeschool learners or those with additional needs.(SEN) . ‘Eat the Rainbow’ Workshops
This is my original - and most popular - workshop and acts as a vibrant introduction to ‘Health and Wellbeing’ through the concept of ‘Eating the Rainbow.’ A bountiful array of fresh produce from the local market illustrates to the children how a diet rich in colourful fruits and vegetables can support their bodies and minds in countless different ways. This can also be run as a whole school assembly and is the perfect way to introduce myself to your school community…
